Hygge

Hygge is warmth and togetherness – an everyday happiness that pairs very well with mindfulness.

Memories of Hygge time

When I was a child, my father used to come home from work each day in time for afternoon tea.

We’d make a pot of tea, we might have some cake or a little bit of food and we’d just connect.

It was always about connecting, about talking.

It was Hygge time 💕

Hygge is about taking joy in low-key comforts.

For me it is a comfortable chair, blanket, candles, Danish pastries, tea, a book, my cat Millie.

Hygge is warmth and togetherness – an everyday happiness that pairs very well with mindfulness.

We turn towards each other, we turn towards the home, we turn towards food…

It’s an atmosphere, it’s a feeling – it’s not something you ‘get’, it’s something you experience.

Invite a friend over for Hygge – have a good cup of tea, light a candle just sit and talk about life or the book you’ve read.

Pick some flowers, bake something, sit down with your family or children and simply be there together and appreciate it.
