Mindfulness For Leaders

In today’s uncertain business environment it is important for HR professionals to assist in creating workplace cultures where people feel valued and supported to work in the best way that they can, as this in turn can have a positive impact on our organisations.
In this session, Professor Julia Connell, University of Newcastle and I will consider the foundations of leadership both in relation to our daily lives and as leaders at every level in the workplace.
They will then explore what mindfulness offers both in terms of what the research says, what neuroscience tells us about the brain and their impacts. Next, these components are integrated with some of the practices from Posner and Kouzes’ work ‘The Leadership Challenge.’
The aim of the session is for participants to leave with a good sense of what Mindful Leadership is, what the benefits are and a sense of how to implement it. It is intended that participants will also have some personal and professional take-aways that will assist their future self-management.
The session will be valuable for both HR professionals and leaders as it covers some of the science and research on Mindful Leadership as well as some of the tools, providing fresh understanding and insight.
