The Mindfulness Clinic is collaborating with various stakeholders in providing the experience that will give you this, in Bali!
Embrace life changing mindfulness techniques that can be incorporated into your everyday life to bring you more calm, inner strength and purpose.
Set at the beautiful Zen Resort in Bali, you will immerse yourself in the full Mindfulness experience.
Want time out? Want to reconnect with the best in you? Want to be of service? Want to learn new leadership skills? Want to learn and connect with like-minded people?
We are partnering with Melissa Histon to provide a unique Bali experience for personal insights and growth, combining daily mindfulness and leadership learnings with people from the local village and volunteering activities.
We are so excited to offer “Mindful Leadership Bali – for your Entrepreneurial Spirit” last week in August 2023.
Affected by what we both saw in Bali this year, it has simply been horrendous, with many not knowing if there was food enough for the next day. This is what has inspired this retreat.
This is a non for profit retreat, you will be charged cost but expected to bring funds to plough back into the local community.
The day will start with meditation at sunrise, yoga followed by breakfast and then mindfulness sessions with the afternoons for engaging with the local community and mindful leadership projects as well as free time.
Join us at the beautiful Zen Resort
The Mindfulness Clinic was one of the first to run mindfulness retreats in Bali. We started by offering it to psychologists as part of their professional development. We fell in love with the Zen resort and the people there and have maintained a close relationship with them for the past ten years. We love it also because there is a bit of the old Bali still left there, the daily prayers, the offerings and ceremonies.
The Zen is a special place, some have commented that it along with the mindfulness has opened their hearts. Many have commented after our retreats that it has been a life altering experience. That life before the retreat is different to life after. Part of the reason is also that we take the mindfulness seriously! My intention is that you deepen your self insight, increase your collection of ‘tools’ but also that you will know your way your way back when you get lost.
The Kartini Project
The Manager of the Zen resort Bali Ms Budiani and Charlotte Thaarup started ‘Kartini” in 2012. The project came about as it was clear that in general girls in Bali are not first priority when it comes to education. Some families simply do not have the money to continue their daughters’ education. Kartini was designed to ensure that young girls who wanted to stay at school would have the opportunity to do so. This was done through paying their school fees, and covering the cost of clothing, shoes and other necessary items.
For most years the program has supported twelve girls. Additional training has been offered including in English language, computer skills, contraception and environmental awareness.
During Covid, Kartini ceased taking in new students and all funds went to support the staff at Zen with food supplies.
Kartini Stage 2
It is now time for Stage Two of Kartini. Kartini will become a registered foundation, meaning that donations will be tax deductable.
Stage Two also involves new projects. Kartini will acquire a shop front in Umeanya village to sell products made by local women. This will provide an opportunity for them to earn their own money and to develop further skills.
Another Stage Two project is designed to support young people who would like to get a Diploma in Tourism by paying their college fees. As a way of ‘paying back’, they will have to commit to working in the shop for a certain number of hours. This will enable them to get a reference, as well as to practise their English and computer skills, and gaining retail skills. It is envisioned that the shop proceeds will eventually be able to support the school fee component of Kartini so that the project will be self-funded.
A possible additional project is to deliver products to Australian-based businesses.
If you would like to be part of this exciting development then join us for the ‘Mindful Leadership Retreat’ in August where you will be able to contribute your skills to best support this little project.
You will engage with Kartini girls and interns as well as connecting with Mr Edi, the Major of the village, and Ms Budiani MD of Zen Resort.
